Happy birthday Henry!!

Today we didn't have anything to do really, so when we finished breakfast Jer put one more coat on the ceiling repair in the living room and we went for a drive.  We wanted to check out some areas we hadn't had time to look at before.  We drove around and found a nice area that backs up to Lake Houston with docks behind the houses on the lake.  Didn't know that was there.  We also mailed a letter and took a picture of the post office and the little shopping strip mall where we have shopped a lot.

I also wanted to take pictures of the crepe myrtle trees that I remember from when I was little.  I loved the pale pink flowers on the tree in our neighbor's yard.  I tried to find some like I remember but this is the closest we could find.  Most are hot pink or purple now.

When we got home we rested and read and I took a little nap.  Then we decided to prepare my little night stand for painting.  Jer filled all the holes and cracks and sanded it down.

We'll have to paint it when we get back in December since we didn't have the right kind of primer here now.  Jer wants to get some Kwal primer.  Then we read and soon it was time to take the lady missionaries to dinner.  We went to Applebee's and had a nice visit.  One of the sisters was friends with the son of a family in our Utah ward!

When we got home I took our phone info and Lara's info to the lady upstairs who said she would be happy to keep her eyes and ears open to protect our place.   She came down to visit a little and was very impressed with the mantel.  She wants one too and wondered if it was a kit.  We told her it was a true miracle that it actually fit when we bought it in such ignorance of the measurements here.

After she left we watched Walter Mitty.  It was a lovely movie.  So glad we saw it.  We leave for Dallas in the morning and then will arrive in Champaign-Urbana tomorrow evening!
