This day we got the kitchen cabinets up!  What a wonderful accomplishment! The first thing Jer had to do was take off the existing shelf.   Then he had to shave off some of the wallboard so that the cabinets would fit exactly right.  The wall was uneven in a crucial place but he fixed it.

 Then we attached each cabinet to the wall and the two cabinets to each other.

And then Jer put the pretty little doors on!  We are very happy.  It has been a worry and a burden, wondering how it would go, and it went really really well!  The white cabinets lighten up the whole kitchen.  And they are just the right size for all the cooking ingredients that I wanted to put up there.  More storage space in the kitchen!

After we got the cabinets up we had to admire them for a long time and then I went shopping and Jer painted the base coat around the laundry room doors.

We read a little and then we prepared to have Lara and the girls to dinner.  Sam and Jon are on their canoeing trip today.  We had spaghetti and meatballs and salad and Mary brought a wonderful peanut butter bar dessert.  It was fun to have them as company to our little place.  

After dinner we went for a walk around the golf course and Sarah collected 3 golf balls and a broken tee.  It was a nice walk.  The evening was balmy and pleasant and it was nice to be out in the air and in the green grass and trees.
