We all got up this morning wondering how the day would go with the sickness. And it went wonderfully. Robert was fine all day. He played happily outside and raked leaves and played and played and played. He was never sick again and so far no one else has had a symptom. He wanted to go outside when he saw snowflakes falling so he could catch some on his mitten and look closely at them. So Susan got him dressed and bundled up so he could go out. We stayed inside and watched his fun from the warm house. Pretty soon James wanted to join him. He looked like he was having so much fun. And then Grandma wanted to help rake leaves and put them in the bag with Robert so she went outside too.
After a while I thought I would look in on the chickens and see how they were faring. They had laid 5 eggs and some were still warm! Susan decided to come out and see the chickens too so now we were all out in the cold. It was brisk and refreshing.
After Alice got home they went out again and played in the leaves and made nests for themselves and made up stories and had a great afternoon outside. It was cold but they played hard enough to stay warm.
Susan had made some really wonderful cranberry pumpkin bread that smelled delicious and we made chicken parmesan for dinner. I need both recipes. The bread was moist and flavorful and the chicken was tender and moist with a crunchy crust.
After dinner Robert and Alice ran laps again around the house and got tired and ready for settling down and reading. Bobby had a phone conference till late and then went off to be bishop tonight.
It's so good to have the kids feeling well and having a good time together.
