I got here about 730 or so and the kids were in bed but I went in to say hello to Robert and Alice. They were playing happily dressing up. They had all kinds of dresses and pajamas on him and they were giddy with joy and excitement. They finally went to bed around 10. I thought they may be hard to wake up this morning but Alice was up early and ready for breakfast. Robert slept in them all and got up and ate breakfast in them.
Bobby made a big breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast and we all enjoyed it. He had slept in the living room for the one night and I slept in their bed. Susan is sleeping in the baby's room so she can get up with him and not disturb Bobby. He has been taking care of the kids needs for the past 2 weeks and needed to be alert. Today they had a mattress delivered that I will sleep on so that everyone can be in their own beds now. When Erin comes she will have the single bed in the office and I will be in the baby's room and Susan will be in her own room.
Bobby woke early this morning with James calling and calling for Mommy and then Alice got up. It was 5 AM. So he said he had plenty of time to fix the big breakfast.
When Susan and the baby got up they all had to hug the baby. As soon as James saw the baby he said, Hold it, baby Matthew!! And Susan helped him to do it. Then everyone else wanted to do it too.
Robert kissing baby Matthew.
Tonight they're running laps around and around through the playroom and the living room. So far Robert has done 45 laps and Alice has done 21. Alice was practicing the piano earlier so Robert got a long head start.
I am really happy that James seems much more accepting of me this time out. He lets me do things for him and he actually talks to me. He is growing up more and more even since the last time we were out to see them. He is talking more and more and Susan says just this past week he has started saying sentences. This morning he said, See Mommy doing when he wanted to go see Susan, and he also said go Daddy gawage. to see what Bobby was doing in the garage.
We had a really good beef/barley soup and artisan bread for dinner. Susan is feeling really well even though her stitches still itch and feel like a bruise. My job is to clean and cook and help with the baby when she needs a rest. I got to hold him for about an hour during quiet time until he went to sleep.
And that's the first day here. :o)
