This morning Bobby took Alice and Robert to rake leaves for a member of the ward. After the raking there would be doughnuts and hot chocolate. They came back several hours later and I asked Alice what she had done. She said, ate a doughnut and had hot chocolate! And I'm sure she also raked leaves. She was a good worker here when we did it. Service projects are always fun.
While they were gone James played and played by himself pretending all kinds of things. He was in the front room playing and came around the corner saying, where Daddy? Where daddy? And then he saw a little person on the floor and said, oh! der he is! He had an imaginary something going on and needed the daddy in it.
While the others were raking leaves Susan gave James a haircut. And when they got back she gave Robert and Bobby haircuts. She is good at it. During Robert's haircut Erin called and said she had lost her driver's licenxe and wouldn't be able to rent a car to come on down from Chicago. So Susantold her of the place to get a shuttle and she was able to get it arranged.
After lunch Susan and Bobby went out together to get some things. When they got back it was time to go get the kids' pictures taken by a friend that is a photographer. Susan wanted the kids to dress up as they liked; to present themselves as they wanted to. Alice dressed up prettily with a Sunday dress and black velvet cape and Robert wore his Superman costume. James was in Sunday clothes and Baby Matthew was in a little white shirt on the quilt GM Harward and GM Poulson made for Susan when she was born. Alice was her sparkling self with lots of pretty faces and poses. Robert was a strong man and showed off his muscles and personality and James was Mr Stone Face. That's always the face I get when I take his picture. (Witness the foregoing post.) He's all questions and animation but when the camera comes out it's all off. And from this picture you can see what Matthew thought of it all. Not the best time for him, darn it. We got a sweet picture of him the other night on Susan's camera that I will have to get from her.
When we got home Bobby went to the Saturday stake conference leadership session and we came home to do dinner and baths. Bobby came home later and had dinner and while he was eating James wanted to see videos of motorcycles. We watched them for a while and then saw some airplanes. After that it was story time. James wanted me to read him his story. Then they read stories all together.
So now Erin is here and Stake Conference is tomorrow so Bobby can sit with his family at church. Everything is good.
