So the man talked to the owner on Thursday, the day they make out the schedules for the next week, and told her that he needed more time to fix up the condo to sell (nothing about the schizo manager) and would like to quit. They had announced the week before that they were going to cut down the personnel since the main crunch was over so it was easy for her to let him go. She has been very nice the whole time. Her main concern was that he wasn't quitting because he had had a problem with another worker. He assured her that he had had nothing but pleasant experiences with his coworkers. He said he was happy to come in and help out during the last week crunch again if she wanted to call him. And so TODAY IS HIS LAST DAY!! When he gets home at 5 tonight he is a free man. Nothing to do tomorrow but what he wants. He has a new puzzle going but he may want to take a drive. Or not. We will see what he feels like. :o) There are some things to do around here to get it pretty to sell. Some patching and sanding and so on. It was a rental and it looks like some of the doors were kicked in so the frames need to be repaired, not just painted over. And such things-- small changes, but may have a big effect overall.
We attended the 10:30 AM Kingwood ward this morning so Jer could leave early and go to work at noon. It is totally a young married ward. The bishop was very nice to introduce himself and be friendly but ours were the only gray heads there. He said he's the old man of the ward and he's maybe 50. We will just find the house that's right for us and be in whatever ward that puts us in. I don't want to try to shop wards. There are a couple nice houses that I would like to look at, but not smart doing it now when we don't have any money. There will be plenty of good houses when we're ready. I keep telling myself.
Yea for Dad! I have faith that things will fall into place when they need to.
ReplyDeleteI have the same faith. I keep looking at houses knowing they won't be available when we want to buy, but as Lara said, they will have some of the same floor plans and similar arrangements. It's just fun to look at them and think about them. And nice to know what the possibilities are and what we really want and don't want.
