At work Sunday Jer got a little tickle in his throat and it has developed into a terrible body wracking cough that has made his whole chest and back sore from the constant coughing attacks. He is better today but still really coughing terribly. I was worried about him but he is getting better. And Monday when I got up I tweaked my back so I'm hobbling around like an old lady. :o) We are getting better, though.
In happier news, we have two real offers on the Orem house and will make a final decision between them by 5 pm tomorrow. :o)!!! That makes us really happy. We will finally make some progress and not just be waiting and waiting. Our realtor says one of the families is really motivated because they have parents in the neighborhood and want to live near them. The telling truth will be the appraisal. The offers may sound good, but the bottom line will be when we get that officially. Just have to wait and see what happens with that. But it should still be what we need to buy here.
I have finished the first Percy Jackson series and enjoyed it. It took me a while to get really into it, but I'm glad I read it. Now to start the next one.
Yesterday I went to the bishop's storehouse and worked for 6 hours. It took us 45 minutes to drive there on the freeway. Like driving from Provo to Salt Lake. It's still in Houston and serves a large area beyond the city here. I was really grateful to the sister that I rode with because I NEVER would have found it on my own. It was nestled back in a neighborhood by a chapel. But it was so very satisfying to see how the church provides for the members. And it was a joy to serve those who came. Good food for those who need it. One sister said the salsa was better than any she had ever tasted. And they make peanut butter there at that same building. The brother there said there is a special strain of peanut that has been developed especially for this peanut butter and it's grown up north a little bit from here. Made me want to taste the peanut butter to see if I can tell a difference.
Anyway, we will let you know when we accept the offer and see what kind of terms are attached.
