So last week I was wiping down the cooktop after making dinner and as I passed one of the knobs with my sponge the knob fell off.  Completely broke off at the level of the top.  NO repair possible.  So we have been looking at cooktops and have found one for half price (it's a floor model) in Austin.  So we are going to drive 3 hours to Austin today and get it.  :o)  It's nice to have the luxury and freedom of time like that.  It's at a Sears and there aren't any Sears around here.

That's okay with me because the cooktop was original with the house and it's very old and speckled and one burner is lopsided.  If I could have had anything in the kitchen break that would have been my choice.  :o)

And yesterday we got our fireplace logs.  They are so pretty!  I love them.  Can't wait till winter so we can use them.   We got them now while we still have a little money from the house sale.  We love a fire in the chilly evenings and it won't be so much work now as with wood.

We brought the fireplace screen from Crosby and it works fine.  They are $60+ new.

And yesterday we also went to Ikea and got the bookshelves and end tables that I have wanted to complete the family room.  Maybe today we will put something together after we get back from Austin.

Then all we will need to complete the furnishing of the house is the furniture from Crosby.

That sale progresses still.  The buyers wanted a copy of the inspection that we had done when we bought it.  I guess they want to see if we did everything that needed to be done then,  Maybe they don't want to pay for their own inspection.  They are first time buyers so they may be short of cash.
