I love this day! We finally have time to do things around here. The hard part is deciding where to start and what to tackle next. We started with the things that bother us most. I want my little book shelves fastened to the wall and the mirror put on the dresser to get it out of the way and my little roll around butcher block cart put together so I can clear out some shelves in the pantry. The man wants to take down the fan in the kitchen and hang the light.
He was going to run off to Ace Hardware to get two screws for the little cart and I said first why don't we make a little list of some of the things we will need through the day for the projects we want to do? He didn't know if he could do that but finally relented and we outlined 5 projects to get supplies for. Hooray for him!
Okay, I committed a sad disaster since I wrote the above. While Jer was gone I tried to move it by myself and it fell over. :o( But the good news is that only the front broke. The sides and the mirror and the shelves are still fine. I got it cleaned up and set in place before he got back. We were both really sad for it, but glad it wasn't worse.
I put it all back together after cleaning it up and got the different things in it. I put all the GM things in storage boxes and have used it to display some decorative things and some of the serving pieces we will be using.
When he got back he fixed my little roll around cart and also put the mirror on the dresser. He brought some nails so we could hang some pictures and the clock. He took down the kitchen fan and replaced it with a marvelous light! It looks just like daylight.
Another wonderful thing today is that we got our new sofa set! It looks great and makes me very happy! And the decorative pillows came with the pieces. Very pretty.
We will put the red rug from the condo in the center when the condo sells.
We were so disappointed yesterday, We thought we had lost the gasket Jer ordered for the dishwasher in the condo. He applied the bottom one and it still leaked so he meant to put in the other one but we couldn't find it. He would have to order another one and it would take 10 days or so to get it. I prayed and prayed that we could find it around here somewhere so that we wouldn't have to do that. And while I was putting things away I found it in the guest room in a bucket we had brought from Crosby!!! I was so very grateful. Jer will put it in tomorrow when he goes back to finish the frame around the mirror.
We both are pretty tired now so the bookcases can wait. We have done a lot today and feel really good about the progress in spite of the sad disaster.
