So when the crape myrtles stop blooming he will trim them off to about four feet so they will come out more abundantly next year we hope, and then trim the trees in the back. We have a couple of stands of crape myrtle in the front and one stand has three different plants so it looks like one multi-trunked tree has white, purple, and pink blossoms. It feels so good to have that front tree done. I have been waiting to get some sun in the windows and at last we have it!
And then today he put up the wallboard between the living room and the family room so we can have privacy and separation--another thing that I have been waiting for. Not so significant right now since there is no furniture in the living room, but one day we hope to get the condo furniture here and maybe have two different activities going on in the two rooms.
This week should see both sides finished. The two wallboard sides have enclosed the several slender, carved pillars that were over the wet bar. We decided that it was okay to keep the wood framing the inset instead of all the work it would have been to take it all out and repair it. I think the man can make it pretty. And next we will be enclosing the cord that runs from the fan to the wall plug. Jer will run it along the wall edges and still plug it in at the wet bar, but it will not be hanging in the way. We did decide to keep the fan. It stirs the air conditioned air in the summer and it will circulate the warm air in the winter.
Home repair isn't nearly as fun as it used to be for the man. He was really happy to get the wallboard install finished today. But he did say he doesn't mind sweating. That's good since being outside cutting wallboard in the garage or cutting tree branches makes him sweat buckets. He just comes in and has a drink from his quart of Gatorade and then goes back out.
The ESL class was fun today because we just talked. I wonder if we can just have a conversation class. We used the past tense and talked about the vocabulary words being used and a few grammar corrections, but the conversation was really fun. Everyone enjoyed it. The man will take his orientation class Saturday and then come Monday to class to help out. The students all want to meet him.
