This past week we were supposed to be at the Collinses to watch Rachael and Scott and take them to their activities while Sean and Kristin are on a trip to Cabo. They left Monday morning early and flew to San Diego where they were supposed to meet up with friends but there was a bad hurricane in Mexico that messed up travel (there was a bus pushed into the air terminal) so that no one could come or go. They stayed in San Diego for a couple days, hoping to finally get going, but their flight was cancelled again. So they came home. The nice thing is that they had bought lots of food for their expected excursion on their boat and couldn't use it so they gave it to the captain and told him to give it out to his friends and family since all the stores were out of everything there. They greatly appreciated it.
Heather moved into her new apartment a couple weeks ago and is getting things sorted out. Jer went up last week for an evening and a Saturday to put together all her Ikea furniture so that she could put away the stuff that's in boxes. He got most of it done and she was able to clear out a lot of the clutter. She still has way too much stuff from going from a 3 bedroom place to one bedroom. She gets to decide what is really worth keeping and what can go. No one else can help with that.
Jer is continuing to work on Cathi's basement. It is looking better every day. He expects to be done with his part by the end of next week. They will put down more tile and do some other things.
Then we want to clean up the room Heather was staying in here. There is old wallpaper and an exposed heating duct on the ceiling that we want to make pretty. It was that way when we came here but we are finally ready to do something about it.
Jer was released from being High Priest Group Leader a couple weeks ago but we haven't been able to make it official since we don't meet as a ward for another 2 weeks. We have been gone and then a stake conference and then the temple dedication. I will be released in two weeks too. They already have called my replacement. She will do a wonderful job. I told the President I thought she would be really good as a counselor and she said she had already considered her. We need to be released because we will be gone half the year from now on.
I have been working at indexing obituaries and enjoy it. I need something worthwhile to do when I don't have to do anything.
This makes me more excited to go see them in Dec.!
