The renovation continues.  We have no carpet anywhere and most all the doors are off.  We have 11 doors that needed to be stripped, sanded and painted.  I am thrilled to say they are finally done with the primer coat.  It was my main job for several days.

Jer painted on the first coat and this morning I turned them and painted the other side of them all.  They lined the entire living room.

We also got a nice new window for the living room that is beautiful.  Too bad they're so expensive.  It would be nice to take out all these two sets of windows and get them replaced.  They are such a bother to open and to clean.  The living room window leaked on the side that opened and the other side didn't open at all.  The new owners will be truly grateful even if they don't know it.

We were so grateful to the kids who all came and helped us Saturday and Monday.  Everyone came and helped some.  Heidi volunteered to be the repository for all the family records, pictures, history etc so she and James and Atticus came with two cars and took away bins and bins and bins of all that data.  She says she means to digitize all the pictures by a later date, but if anyone wants access to anything they are free to come and look through it all.  We thought it would be nice to keep it here in Utah where most of the children reside and she has space and interest.  That was a huge burden taken off our minds and our hearts.

Cathi and Lisa and Grace took out all the upstairs carpet and padding and Mike carried ALL our food storage up from the lowest level to the garage and shed.  Heather and Erin helped with the doors too.  And it was so fun and so encouraging to have them be here to help and to visit.  Tyler came Monday and ripped out carpet in the second level bedroom and helped with some closet doors and generally was very supportive.  He even bought us lunch!  Kristin's family also came Monday and helped with scraping the doors and cleaning off the storm door so it could be painted.  It was ugly chipping paint here and there and now it's beautiful!  Scott ripped up the downstairs carpet and helped with the storm door and cleaning out the window wells.  Rachael was great at scraping those terrible doors.  It means a lot to me to have their support when we are so stressed about getting this all done.  It looks overwhelming when we start listing the things that still need to be done.  Everywhere I look there's something to remember to do.  But every day is more progress toward finishing.

We think that we will have most of the painting done this week.  We are almost through with the downstairs rooms.  Just need to do the white trim there.

Our kitchen is the work space so there is paint and there are tools and sometimes I can make food there.

We had a wonderful girls' lunch Saturday.  We were finally able to get everyone's schedule to work and went to Mimi's together.  Cathi was sickly so didn't come and we missed her.  Raylyn said it seems more people are missing than just Cathi.  She is a lot of fun.  Everyone got to visit and catch up on what everyone's doing.  I love doing this and will really miss it when we move.  Or maybe we can arrange it every year when we come back for some family event.  We have people going to be baptized and ordained and married and so forth.  Should be back every once in a while.

Okay, gotta get back to work.  I'm going to roll the closet cubbies and the walls.  Jer does the corners and fine work.  But he is letting me paint!!  And not chastising me when I don't do it exactly as he would.  I think we are making great progress.
